Dr. Lisa Andrew
President & CEO

Dr. Lisa Andrew has dedicated her career to supporting students furthest from access to get the education and opportunities they deserve. As CEO of SVEF, she leads the organization in providing proven STEM programs and supporting students with the tools that they need to graduate high school career and college ready. Last year, Lisa was selected as one of Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Women of Influence.
Katalina Huerta was born and raised in San Jose. Her exposure to SVEF began when she participated in the Step-Up to Algebra program as a child. As a result of this program, she was inspired to attend college. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Health Science from Whitworth University. She currently works as a nurse assistant at Stanford Hospital and working towards attending a master's degree program in Physician Assistant studies.
Dr. Carmen Domingo
Dean of the College of Science
San Francisco State University
Dr. Carmen Domingo became Dean of the College of Science and Engineering in 2019, making her the first women and Latina to serve in the position at SF State. After joining the University as an assistant professor of Biology in 1997, she served as associate chair of Biology from 2007 to 2015, and was the interim dean in 2017. An expert in vertebrate embryology, she has taught and mentored hundreds of students in the classroom and lab.
Monica Tijerina is goal-driven pharmaceutical executive focused on leading and building teams able to effectively deliver innovative medicines to patients. Successful product launches include Veklury, Biktarvy, Vemlidy, Descovy, Odefsey, Genvoya, and Janumet. Monica is currently a Vice President within Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing at Gilead Sciences.
Systems Engineer, Sr. Staff
Georgina Baca is a Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin with 20+ years of experience in innovative research and development. Currently her role is as Program Manger for a hardware development program. She is passionate about service and has a deep desire to give back to the LatinX community. She has been empowered to do this thanks to the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley's (HFSV) Latino Board Academy Leadership (LBLA) program.
